Question.If it is desireable to inject public money into capitol projects to encourage and sustain economic and industrial actvity in a time of recession why have ALL of the maritime building projects been either delayed, cut back or sidelined ?

F.D.R. In Thirties America stimulated the economy by similar means but the programmes begun included the Yorktown class aircraft carriers which prevented Americas defeat in the Pacific by Japan.Now as I understand it F.D.R. Is the poster boy of the political and cultural elite of this country so where are the military componants of the copied economic stimulus package being suggested by Gordon Brown?

If it was O.K. For F.D.R. To build up the U.S. Navy as well as build the Hover dam then why is it wrong for Labour to do the equivalent,
