Having the British gutter papers journalists around here?…..NO HELP, we just have enough in Spain. In any case, our tabloids (essentially magazines) will do the job very well, will harrass them all the time too. They have already found a house in La Moraleja (the yuppi part of Madrid), you know…..twelve rooms, fourteen bathrooms, two swimming pools….all that stuff.

I just wonder how the british tabloids are gonna survive.
They will have to chase the becks in Spain now !!!

No, as a footabller he was/is great. By all accounts a thoroughly nice chap as well. But yes, I agree that he didn’t really merit all the hype.

I think Becks’s fame goes beyond his abilities as a footballer. He’s a decent player, but I don’t think his qualities warrant such an amount of media scrutiny, or rather obsession.
It seems to me that his relationship with Victoria is the stuff of all dreams for tabloids and celebrities mags. And though they are often pilloried in the press, many papers know how valuable they are to paper circulation. (more than a hint of hypocrisiy on the part of hacks, but then again, what’s new).

He’s a good looking bloke, his wife’s not ugly either, they are young, put themeslves in the public eye, the camera loves them, people are interested in them, and they’re not exactly media-shy. I think it suits both parties for them to be in the public eye.

As Kev pointed out, in spite of all the jibes, I’m not sure the joke’s entirely on them; in fact they must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Becks comes across as a decent bloke, who abuses neither his body, nor his wife, and indeed most of the time gives his all on the pitch. If he wants to court media attention, nobody’s forced to listen or read about him.

I don’t think the interest will abate with his move to Real. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the papers sent a special Beckhams watcher to Madrid to satisfy the British public’s hunger for news about the new royal couple (well they seem like a new sort of Royalty, only this one is chosen some section of the people).

Good luck to them. I think there are many causes more worthy of our anger in the world at the moment to be honest…

I have no great interest in football, and even less interest in ‘pop’ music, but I think it is a little unfair to criticise the Beckham’s too harshly. They are victims of their own success. While you and I have no wish to read of the 100,000 pound farewell party they are to throw, which tatto design David will choose next or what Victoria has or has not eaten, sadly, there are millions who do. They are bringing their children up in the manner they choose and, so far, without the scandal of other so called ‘celebrity’ marriages. They are accused of being dense, obviously so dense that they are raking in another ten million while on holiday in Japan. I wish I was that dense, I really do. As for David and football, I believe he is a player who, even when not playing well, gives 100%, there aren’t that many you can say that about.

So, they leave for Spain, the British press might give them a rest, but they’ll only focus on someone else.

I agree wholeheartedly Kabir. I, for one, am glad to see the back of him. Maybe now our media can concentrate on more important things in the news and we won’t have his wife and brats rammed down our throats on a daily basis.

It’s fantastic news for all of us who detest Man Yoo. And with Arsenal skint and unable to buy new players, maybe someone else will get the chance to win the Premiership at last. 😀

there has been a suggestion that the M25 Londons orbital motorway is to be shut to hold a street party to celibrate posh and becks departure.
If Spain is getting Posh & Becks does that mean we keep Gibraltar:p not a bad deal!!
