Quite a good clutch of aircraft with about 30 or more arrivals and based aircraft flying in or out in all des spite of the recent spells of rain and soft ground
There as meant to have been fly in at Compton Abbass on the same say but I gather that was cancelled so perhaps Popham benefited.
Most of the time when I have been at Popham, runway 26 has been in use but aircraft have to turn or bank just before landing to line up so you can often get some nice top side landings.
The downside is that outside the airfield you have the A303 and the petrol station. With the thinned out hedge at the time of year both can clearly be seen and can add clutter to your landing or take off shots. The other thing is that if you pan even marginally halfway, the sun is low down and in your face.
It does not bother me. Everything else about Popham more than makes it up. It is a lovely location and for me and there is no better place to be on New Years Day.
Thanks
Martin

Lovely pics. Liked the Leopard moth. Nice to see a bit of green. Our nearest strip, Rockliffe near Ottawa is currently under 30 cms of the white stuff.

Beautiful captures, thanks for sharing Martin. 🙂
Nice tight framing and angles and good weather for the time of year too.
