Popular Flying

In ‘Popular Flying’, a monthly aviation periodical published before the last war, at some time during 1937 there was an article by R.W.Kenworthy about his experience of flying the Alula Semiquaver in 1921, before it was modified by the installation of a wide track undercarriage. Does anyone have a copy of the edition containing this article or can someone suggest where I might find it? If so, I’ll be very grateful!

looks like they have a good collection and might be able to help. Some interesting cover art online there!

It looks as if this will be a useful and interesting website in due course but, for the present, the contents of only one of the featured issues of ‘Popular Flying’ has been put onto the site – and, regretably, that’s not one of the 1937 issues!

Thanks, low’n’slow. If your post pricks the conscience of he who knows who he is and if this results in the remainder of your 1937 issues of ‘Popular Flying’ being returned to you and if one of these contains the Kenworthy article, I’ll look forward to a further post by you on this thread!

Were any consciences pricked? Have the 1937 issues of ‘Popular Flying’ yet found their way back to you, low’n’slow?

I’ve got a few 1937 editions, but it doesn’t appear in any that I have to hand.

I did loan some copies to a well-known magazine editor (you know who you are!) so this might prompt my regaining them!! 😀
