Portugal Air Force

Portuguese Air Force lost today an AlphaJet aircraft in a training exercises near Nisa city, south of Portugal, the pilot ejected saffely and had only minor injuries in a shoulder.
Portugal lost last year an F-16A and his pilot in a training exercise, and an Alouette III, his pilot and to others passengers.

Portugal Air Force operates the follwing aircrafts:

* The F-16 Squadron 201 (Falcons) has now 15F-16A and 4 F-16B, both OCU, in 1999 we received from the states 25 ex-USAF F-16, and from that 25, 20 are being chanched to the MLU standard, we already have two of them in the air. By 2008/2009 we will have 40 F-16MLU in the Portuguese Air Force.
** The 10 Puma are going to be replaced by 12 EH-101 starting July 2004, 2 EH-101 will be for fishiries protection, 2 for CSAR and 8 for SAR duties.

Some the others aircrafts types will be also replaced in a 7/15 years period, if you want to know more, make your questions and I will try to awnser.
