Poss Luftwaffe prop spinner part???

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody could help me positively identify this prop spinner part I picked up this week?

The seller was not aviation minded but the story goes that it had been recovered from a ex USAAF base in the Cambridgeshire area. It had apparently been used to drain oil into at some point.

The spiral design and colour suggest to me that it’s Luftwaffe, so maybe a crash site trophy of some sort. I’ve seen similar styles on FW, Ju, and Bf aircraft.

It is misshapen but measures approx 16 to 17 inches across and riveted around its circumference. The blanking plate is secured from the inside. There is no data plate or visible part numbers.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
