Hello,
Just found this thread, I may be a little late but think that Hurricane V7482 may be 274 Squadron a/c in which Sgt Milburn safely crash landed on the 1st May 1941.
Others of 274 Sqn this date were V7825 – S/D in flames. P/O S. Godden. Tobruk area . V7755 – damaged emergency landing P/O P. H. V. Hutt safe.
Also a 6 Sqn Hurricane, V7814 shot up on landing. F/O P. E. R. Pike WIA.
The 203 Squadron Blenheim may have been L9318 lost on 2nd June 1941.

Just thinking outloud the lost and then refound might have something to do with the photos. I dont have the Air Britain serial book covering the Hurricane unfortunatly so i was unable to look there.
I wonder if the codes where used by any other unit at any time that might help?
Also is it just me or does there look to be a slight hint of a K in front of the roundel on the Hurricane?

Some additional pieces of the jigsaw kindly provided by Graham Boak over on the LEMB:
Any additional info very much appreciated 🙂

Thanks for confirming my general suspicions Ollie… there is a train of thought on the LEMB that both could have been photographed in Greece…

Ive just checked the Hurricane book and all it says about the aircraft was it went to the middle east in December 1940 which would tally with the background.
