Hi All!
If we get the funds to acquire it (see http://www.do27.nl), our Dornier 27 will visit some happenings in the UK this season. I am a great fan of the Shuttleworth collection and we hope to visit one of their flying days.
Other Air-shows and/or Old-timer fly-ins are to be added to the agenda too. I am currently looking for such events, please mail if you want us to come!
Kind regards and I hope to see you all soon!

@Stratofreighter: Yes I am aware of the Do 27 Piaggio148/149 meeting. (I tried to find you on the DSC, no luck)
I have moved the site to a faster server and added a Calendar section so you all can find out where we are supposed to show up during this season, I will update it as soon as more information is available.
Non of the listed events are confirmed until I actually own the plane, some minor funding and paperwork have to be done. I will update the site and this forum asap

It is based on Antwerp Airport, although I am looking into different options it will possibly stay there for at least this season.
@Stratofreighter: Depending on the weather -I might be needed as an assistant on a baloon flight- I and my chief pilot might be visiting the Fare on saturday.
Antwerp is indeed not round the corner for you, but I think Deurne is a lot more “general aviation friendly” than our “home field” Rotterdam… 😡
Fingers crossed the balloon flight can go ahead, there will be no rain tomorrow apparently. If not, then you’re welcome at the DSC! 🙂

Gefeliciteerd! If you can’t reach the UK, then certainly the Dutch aviation scene will still be graced by this rare vintage bird!
We will reach the UK for sure, but we will fly around Holland as much as possible mainly since the whole crew is Dutch. Expect to see -and hear, this is a loud one- us on many fly-ins, Airshows etc. In Belgium, The Netherlands, the UK and possibly some in Germany. I’ll try to go to the tail-dragger weekend on Texel in next month if possible, no details yet.
Seats might be available…;)

We have got it! new arrangements with the selling party made that possible, we hope to be airborne within a month after all the paperwork has be done!

Back in the late 60s or early 70s, journalist John Fricker related this conversation he overhaeard at either the Farnborough or the Paris air show.
A Dornier sales rep asks a visitor if he’d ever flown in a Dornier.
“No” the British man replies, “…but I’ve been bombed by them”. 😀
You’ve got to love the British sense of humour.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome..
I have updated the site with an activities page to make more clear what we are going to do.
I have not been to the UK for a while and did not know about the Do28. Indeed it would be nice to “put them up” at the same time and the please the crowd (or just you). First we have to actually buy the aircraft but sure I will try to make that possible and let you know about it.

There is a privately owned Dornier 28 now based at Shuttleworth in hangar 9.
That would make a nice sight to see a Do 27 and 28 in the air together.
