Possible future buyers of PAK-FA

Well it appears Sukhoi is planning to fly the first prototype PAK-FA in 2006, and they plan to have a mockup either late this year or early next year. We however know nothing about the plane, except it will seem to be a 5th generation, twin engined air dominance fighter with secondary attack capability. We also know it will be bigger than Mig-29 and smaller than Su-27.

Now as for it’s buyers, obviously we know two buyers for sure, Russia and India(since they are already financing the project), what about other potential buyers?

Eastern European market seems to have closed to Russia, however, how about the possibilites in Asia and South America.

-We can see possibly Iran getting it since that will probably be the only other 5th generation fighter they would have access to besides J-XX
-We could see Syria purchase it to replace Mig-29s
-Another potential buyer is Vietnam possibly in the future to relace Su-27s and other types
-The unclear countries are the CIS countries like Ukraine and Kazakhstan and others who will need a replacement for all their Flankers and Fulcrums and other types.
-Possibly other countries like Libya and etc

Otherwise I don’t see as big of a market for PAK-FA as for F-35 since F-35 seems to be a single engined medium striker with secondary A2A capabilities yet PAK-FA will be a twin engined medium-heavy air superiority fighter with secondary attack capabilities.

PAK-FA seems to be more of in a F-22 class than F-35 class.
