Possible Hunter Radar Ranging part

I am trying to identify the object shown below. It has several RAF Stores Reference Nos, one is an 8B number which indicates machine gun sights. Other numbers are 10DB, which is radio/radar equipment. Enquiries with the RAF Museum have failed to identify the specific numbers (8B/2509, 10DB/6716, 10DB/6717 and 10DB/6718).

The combination of machine gun sight and radio or radar equipment might, it has been suggested to me, indicate that this could be part of the Radar Ranging Mk 1 system used in conjunction with the Ferranti Gyro Gunsight on the Hunter. Does anyone recognise this object and if so is it part of the Radar Ranging equipment?

Any information or comments would, as always, be greatly appreciated.

OK, thanks XK940. If that’s not what it is, does anyone have any ideas as to what this device actually is?

Looks nothing like anything Hunter I’ve ever seen … Sorry.

The Radar Ranging on the Hunter drives the GGS graticule, and that’s pretty much it, other than a ‘lock’ lamp.
