Potential summer strikes…but not at BA!

As has already been mentioned and discussed/debated at length, BA cabin crew have managed to come to some sort of settlement with management regarding pay and working conditions last week, but now it seems like pilots at Virgin Atlantic are unhappy…

So I assume that the “anti-strike, anti-payrise” brigade on here have the same opinion of pilots as they do cabin crew…and if not, why not?

If they ain’t happy why don’t they just get another job.

Most people would give their right arm to work for them.

I would say that there is lots of people that would like to do this , but in the real world this is not really possible , we all have to work to keep the wolf from the door and how many of us can say that they really like there job.
I have not had a pay rise for 2 years now and does not look like there will be one this year , but what can I do , jobs are not that easy to come by.

And if flight / cabin crews don’t strike no doubt the French ATC will. Someone has to mess up the summer system. We can’t have Icelandic volcanoes every year!

Just seen this.

BALPA claims that the pilots have not received a pay rise since 2008 and that the airline’s latest offer of 4% this year and 3% in 2012 and 2013 will not keep pace with inflation.

Tough titty, that’s all I will say.

I’m on 2007 wages! There are others on even older wage packets.
We’re all suffering. So far as I can tell, VS Pilots are well paid and are not scraping the botton of baked bean tins each month to survive whereas there are plenty, such as myself, that do.

They should take a long hard look at the UK, they’d realise that a 4% rise is 4% more than most are getting.
Put up or get out.

Blimey, 64 people have viewed this thread and no replies as yet…I half expected a raft of replies saying that these people were being greedy/selfish and should just be greatful that they have a job and if they are unhappy they should just simply leave and let others who are able/willing to do the job to take their place…or has the result at BA perhaps changed people’s minds/opinions a bit?
