PPRuNe

Apologies for straying off topic, but are there any other PPRuNers on here who are having difficulty getting onto the boards?

For all you avid readers of www.pprune.org the following has been posted on their site

We apologise for the disruption to service.

PPRuNe has been the victim of a malicious hack but we are now rebuilding our system and hope to resume normal service on 28th March 2003.

and Steve,

The only OPSEC I could see compromised, was Crabs blathering on about Pay, Pensions and lack of 5 star accomodation kebabside 😀

It was a denial of service attack originating in Taiwan, so I am reliably informed by OC Pprune.

Site was supposed to be down till this morning, still no change.

In the interim, Military aviator bods are using arrse.co.uk , to get their fix of service banter 🙂

…when it’s working! 😀

Can’t believe the lack of OpSec on PPRuNe sometimes…

Surely if that’s the reason I’d have thought they could just get away with closing down the Military forum for a while to instill a little bit of common sense? I wasn’t seeing anything sensitive in Private Flying or History and Nostalgia…

PPRuNE Professional Pilots Rumour Network

A web site to be found at www.pprune.org

During WW2 the lowest commissioned pilot denominator in the RAF was a Pilot Officer, a cartoon character entitled P/O Prune was very much in evidence.

The above site has some 60000 members 🙂

Perhaps there are too many controversial topics being posted at the moment, can’t say personally if this is the case how this would help a potential enemy, after all we are getting ‘expert’ opinion from the media in all forms as to how to conduct a war, what aircraft are taking off from what base, et al:(

In a way, I’m quite relieved it’s not just me! I’ve emailed the webmaster, so will let you know what response I get.
