Prague Airport Dakota

Noted a Dakota (OK-XDM) outside the CSA airline headquarters at Prague airport this weekend. Is it a Douglas C-47, or a Lisunov Li-2, and is OK-XDM its real ID.

Very good! What a lovely condition aeroplane. Any idea why it’s not airworthy?

Exactly I don’t know but perhaps in that are money.

It is DC-3-229, registration N143J and production number 1995.
Aeroplane was made in the year 1937 and 19.10.1937 was delivered its first owner, transporter Panagra. At that time wore registration NC18119.
After service in a few air companies its path finished at private person.
Last owner was J.Rhoades (registration N143JR).
In its services DC- 3 pass also accident, when 15.9.1989 in town Columbus (USA) crossed at land through the nose about runway.
Accident at the time go round without injury also larger damage aeroplane.
Dakota came to the ČR in the days of 19. 20.6.1991.
Flight on trace St. John´s – Paříž – Frankfurt – Praha Ruzyně abided 15 o’clock plus 52 minutes.
20.6. in 17:21 landed on Ruzyně.

It is the DC3 N143J painted as OK-XDM. This DC3 has serial number 1995 and was built by Douglas in 1937.
