Hi all , I’m just back from my Italian trip 😉
It was a very good show without gaps in the program but weather was poor with only some sun from time to time , but it was still better than on Saturday when it rained almost all day and I had to watch the rehearsals from inside my car…
That’s about the show , now the organisation , that was something else
-No parking on base so park you car where you find a place for example on the beach , in the middle on the road , in the bushes …
-Then walk about one half hour
-Then wait another hour to get on a bus
-You’re finally on the base 🙂
Getting back to your car was much worse , a cue of some thousands of people waiting in a very heavy thunderstorm to get on the bus and then walk again an half hour to your car in the dark and rain 😡 , a spotter’s life can be hard 🙂
AND THE MOST NEGATIVE THING : THEY ONLY SOLD ALCOHOL FREE BEER
Anyway , I enjoyed my 4 days stay very much , here some of my photos 😉

Yeahhhh,
rain has been required from UK pilots. It seems they don’t feel ‘natural’ operating with sun and without water from the sky :p :p :p :p 🙂 😀 😀

Sunday
C-27J Spartan in the most beuatiful minutes of the day
An AM (Aeronautica Militare) formation of 19 MD500 helicopters
A very hot end of an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon
Swiss Hornet in a close fly-by
Turning and burning by Dutch F-16AM
Red Arrows at their best
Aermacchi’s future trainer M-346
All compliments go to Frecce Tricolori which took-off in dry but after about 3-4 minutes of their performance, heavy showers stormed in from the sea with visibility reduced to minimum and they still did their display as best as could and their comentator Andrea Saia, standing on the open and comentating their performance on rain instead of going inside the tent, being totally soaked. Not a lot of pics could be taken for obvious reasons but these two picture can give you faint idea how it was like when they landed and the worst was already over…

Also Thanks to Zdenko Frangez who borrowed me his Nikkor 70-300 lens for the show.

My view of the airshow:
Saturday
F-104 gateguard
Italian AMX
A salute in return to me from a FAF Mirage 2000 pilot
Steep take-off of Swiss Hornet
Attractive Dutch demo F-16AM
Frecce Tricolori Mb.339PAN waiting for its turn
Pair of A-129s Mangustas
Hungarian Mi-24 in a humid air
Frecce tricolori now equipped with afterburner? 😀
