I remember seeing it parked up at Exeter Airport took this photo in 1976. I had to use a long telephoto lens as it was always parked out in the middle of the airfield from what I remember.

Interesting and thanks for the efforts so far! I find British aircraft in unusual locations fascinating!

I was speaking to someone at the weekend at the Henstridge Fly-In that for some unknown reason mentioned that he had flown in this very aeroplane when it was operated by the Exeter Flying Club before it was sent overseas. I have the gentleman’s phone number, so will try and find out what I can and will report back.

It was parked with the local CAF wing at Camarillo , Ca in May 1998.Duxman

As no one else has provided a photo, here is one taken at Camarillo in 2005 when it had apparently not been in use for some time. 🙁

Cant help with its RAF career but it was G-AOLP before going to America late 1970,s I think.
Saw it at Santa Monica in 1992, it was being worked on by a chap who had his tools in the boot of a open top Aston Martin, must have been an admirer of quality British engineering.

Cheers for that – can anyone add anything on her RAF days?

The American FAA equivalent of G-INFO has it down as N1041P, registered to the American Aeronautical Foundation Inc at Ventura, California.

I just hope they don’t think all British aeroplanes fly like that! :diablo:
