I have picked up the baton from the late Fred Ballam, to continue with the Westland Historical Archive.
This is going ahead with support from AgustaWestland, and in due course material will be available in digital format for researchers (but please be patient).
The thread: Vintage Wings of Canada Lysander 416.
has prompted me to appeal for an update on all Lysanders preserved or in the course of preservation worldwide, either as static exhibits, but especially flying.
Even as I write this, I am tempted to extend the appeal to include other Westland aircraft, but maybe that can come later and start with the ‘Lizzie’.

Drop me a PM with your e-mail Judwin. You should have a copy of my book on the Lysander in the archive (The Westland Lysander, by James Kightly, MMP Books 2006, 83 917178 4 4.) – at least one was donated via Fred in thanks for his extensive help. There is a survivors section in it, and although a couple of aircraft have changed status, there’s been no change in numbers or identities.
Current airworthy is easy, as I touched on in the other thread – From memory, Shuttleworth V9552, G-AZWT, VWoC 2365, C-FVZZ, and CWH – 2363, C-GCWL. (Lysander identities are, of course, an area to be cautious about being definitive on.)
