Pressurized Flight Suit and an AEW based Osprey???

Maybe I’ve missed it in our discussion of a possible AEW based Ospey. Yet, why couldn’t the crew wear Pressurized Flight Suits to operate over 12,000 ft??? Also, considering the size of the aircraft. I was wondering if a pressurized container couldn’t installed in the back to for the AEW Operators??? In that case the Pilot and Co-Pilot would have to have flight suits but the rest of the crew wouldn’t. Seem like a reasonable solution????

As any Helicopter Based Solution is going to be far from ideal. As they just don’t operate high enough to take full advantage of the radar.

Well, just considering the possibilities…

I hear you, but in the case of the UK the likely outcome is that they go with the Merlin (and whatever radar set is cheapest) with a view to something else in the sunny uplands of the future.

That something else is therefore unlikely to be an Osprey or an AW609… By the time we have got our heads rounds operating off of such a big carrier and the F35 fleet is a useful size we are looking at well beyond 2020 and who knows what designs might be around by then.

But it will be interesting to see whether its manned or optionally manned and whether its a VSTOL design.
