Could be, or it’s on a staging flight to or from Iraq ? PIK gets loads of such USAF visitors regularly.

I would have thought that a special forces bird would fly straight back home so people do see its secret toys.

Great shots everyone. Nice to compare GSM’s new big girl to that 747.

I’m sure the 747 just powered its way over my house at around 21:35, what a noise!

Looks like an MC-130E “Combat Talon” to me, Allen. Special Forces support is the usual mission for that mark of Herc.

Thanks Lance and double thanks for the reply on ‘Military’. I found out a little more on A.net and the only picture of this particular machine on there too. I’m surprised the men in black weren’t gathered around it today at GLA ? 😀

Good stuff Peter, I popped along for a quick look after work at the Evergreen 747 and caught the broken C-130 the PIA arrival too. Just what kind of Herc is that anyway? Surveillance, electronic jamming or something ???
