Prestwick Friday (Incl. wind damaged 747)

Hi all
A run down to Bae systems at PIK to collect a nosewheel door for a Lufthansa 146, and noticed the resident 747 had some bits missing.
N852FT After taking a hammering from high winds last night:

The weather has been terrible here at PIK this week, looked out the window other day there to see a wheely-bin flying doon’ the road 🙂

the windsock really shows how strong the wind is:diablo:

i got to mykonos airport in the summer often and u can drive past the runway on the way to the beaches and the windsock there is always interesting as it can often be the same as the one in your pics!
usually the wind blows straight down the runway there.

when the windsock is completely horizontal i think it means that windspeed is over how many knots? like wise when its half inflated…
