Prestwick pics (Sat 16th)

I went to Prestwick on Saturday for what I thought would be the last BWIA A340 flight due to their financial problems but turns out it apparently isn’t the last after all and will be continuing so that’s good news, good to catch it from a few more angles yet.

The weather was very dull but despite the conditions I got a few reasonable shots out of the visit so here are a few.

On a different theme entirely the first of two Globespan 737-600’s arrived today at Glasgow that are being leased from SAS and the word is it’s in hybrid colours, basic SAS fuselage and engine colours but Globespan Billboard titles and tail logo so that’s another interesting one for us this Summer. I like these hybrid schemes.

Fred.

Excellent pics.
I’m sure the B736s have been bought by GSM though.

No I don’t thik so it looks like the new finance that BWIA got from their Government has allowed them to keep this aircraft so mostly likely it will continue to be 9Y-JIL that does the PIK flight, wouldn’t mind the other better looking one doing it for a while.

And the next new 737-800 has been pictured at Boeing Field in full livery minus the fuzzy tail design (for the moment).

By the way Fred, where did you take the Atlas Air shot from… someone’s roof ?

Good to hear the service has been given a stay of execution. I’ll probably get a chance to get some PIK shots of my own now that spring is in the air and I’m out snapping again. 😀

Is 9Y-JIL still going to be repossesed though ?
