Pretty little cat

I always admire the Wildcat, it sounds and looks a little ‘agricultural’yet has a deceiving turn of speed and is more agile than its looks suggest.

RE: Pretty little cat

I have a great deal of affection for the Wildcat…I think she’s a spirited little plane 🙂

RE: Pretty little cat

I agree she’s an attractive aeroplane in an ugly sort of way.

Pugnacious is perhaps the best description.

Obviously the american soubriquet of Wildcat wasn’t aggressive enough for us brits so we gave it the really inspiring name………Martlet!
This, as everyone knows, is a mythical bird used in heraldry. Very apt.
The yanks really need to heed this lesson when they give the new Joint Strike Fighter a name. How about the ‘Lockheed Lion Rampant’ or ‘Unicorn’ maybe?
