Hey guys,
I was wondering where the previous world cups have been played, which teams made it to the finals and who which countries have won the world cups so far. I only know that the last world cup was played in France and that the French beat the Brazil in the final… before that i was too young to remember anything and football was not really big where i came from.
Thanks

RE: Previous Worldcups
Look forward to seeing future world cups with some other teams starting to dominate. Could be a while though. 🙂
Regards, Glenn.

and anyway, it’s firmly tongue in cheek.
I have no problems with English people… it’s the commentators not shutting up about 1966 that gets me… See my post about things commentators had to say, about two weeks ago…

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-06-02 AT 01:38Â PM (GMT)]et puis quoi? si ils veulent se convaincre qu’ils sont si meilleurs que toute la reste du Royaume Uni, ils n’ont q’a se debrouiller quand ils perdent.
or, to put it another way…
If the Ing-ur-lish really want to brag about how great their football team is… they’d better be able to put up with it when it all goes pear shaped.
as the Germans would say (or, if this was the Sun ‘as the conceited krauts would say’) Schadenfreude ist die beste Freude… And if you can’t work out what that means, well…
‘mon the Samba Boys.

The ball DID cross the line bhoy!
=> England won the world cup.

RE: Previous Worldcups
Well, the game finished 2-2, there was a shot in extra time that didn’t cross the line, and, in accordance with Law 7.9 (Effect of prematurely ending the game: A game which is terminated prematurely by the referee for any reason, such as a persistent thunderstorm, the field becoming waterlogged by rain, or excessive spectator interference, is considered abandoned), the game was stopped when Kenneth Wolsentholme said “Some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over” (nb, this is before the “it is now” bit).
So, obviously, the game did finish in abandonment, and not, as some people mistakenly think, in an Ing-ur-lund victory. QED. 😉
