Primary Trainers

Greetings all. Well, the day has almost arrived. I’m due to start my pilot training in about two weeks, though I won’t actually begin flying an aircraft until about six weeks after that. (Before anyone asks, yes I’m VERY nervous.) 🙂

As such, I see the various trainers the USAF uses on a daily basis. Now, I know that the T-6A that I will be flying is a license-built version of the Pilatus PC-9 Mk.II, and it made me wonder………besides the PC-7/9 series and the Embraer EMB-312/314 Tucano series, what other turboprop trainers are out there, and are any of them as common as the Tucano and Pilatus planes seem to be?

Performance wise, and economy-wise, are they as good as the Tucano and/or Pilatus birds?

Just curious what other people in my shoes in various other nations will be flying when they were or will be at the same stage as myself?
