Don’t know anything about the Devon but I can tell you that the then Prime Minister Harold Macmillan was involved in an emergency at Turnhouse in 1962 when the landing gear had not raised correctly on a Queens Flight Heron just after take off in 1962.
Prince Phillip was also in another Turnhouse emergency in 1967 when one of the Queens Flight Hs 748’s had the Starboard engine go u/s over Lockerbie of all places. The plane landed on the port engine and Prince Phillip went on to Balmoral by road – they were going to Aberdeen originally.
