Hello, 1st posting, long time lurker on the board. NCL was closed most of the morning up to about 1145, I live about 1km from the bottom of 25 and it was eerily quiet, most odd from what i’m used to! Was monitoring Tower and Ground a lot of the morning and indeed there was a fair few stacked up in the hold, several of which did end up diverting, mainly to Tees, however for a period that closed too, which made for some interesting listening. Cheers G.

I’m sure countries like Canada or Russia are laughing their heads off at the way the UK reacts to snow!

Absolutely! Here’s what you can see at the side of the road in Toronto in late January:

Many here in the UK would sh!t themselves if they saw that. Then again they’d sh!t themselves if the felt the -22 degrees C temerature that goes with it!

Not a trace of it down here, well there was at 0300 when we received a few grains of dust, but then the heavens opened with rain and have not stopped

I don’t know how this country would ever react if we got lots of snow like they’ve had in Central Europe. Down here in Sussex, we’ve had an inch but everything grinds to a halt. Useless.

My thoughts exactly. Last week we had three foot snow drifts in Scotland, and there was no mention of it on the news at all. Because a few individuals ignore police advice about no going out, they end up getting stuck and it makes the main national headlines!
