Proctukas – A dumb question

I am aware that they were not finally used in the Battle of Britain and that the problem was their flying characteristics. However I cannot find anywhere a description of their flying characteristics beyond being very briefly awful. Could someone point me in the direction of a more detailed account. Thanks.
