It has been announced that production of this Russian New Generation Fast Attack Missile Boat has started. Though the info on armament and equipment is very sketchy and has the configuration has apparently changed… for example earlier it was reported that it will carry Yakhonts but now i read that decision on type of ASMs has been postponed and is being decided now. It is believed the Russians are more interested in the export possibilities of the ship than the preformance/abillity it will offer to the Ru.Navy. According to some “semi-reliable” sources the Iran ,Ukraine, Croatia, Cuba, Yugoslavia and number of other smaller navies or nations with smaller coast lines that have no need for larger ships. The low cost and good performance are main attraction for those nations.
