Hi,
does anyone have any information on the Walrus, Fw189 and Charles Church Lancaster restorations that appeared, and then dissapeared during the 90’s.
I have pictures of the remains of the CC Lancaster at Biggin Hill. Mostly crushed fuselage and wing section.
Thanks,
H.

Weeks has the majority of the Lanc in Florida. He has a replacement tail section for the original one at Doncaster alledgedly. One of the turrets was in NZ last year forthe Dambusters film.

The Walrus is, I believe at Audley End, in store.
FW189 in Seattle, in storage.

I thought I had read recently that the Walrus was going to fly with a new owner? It was covered on this very forum, as it happens….

The Lancaster tail section is at Aeroventure (Doncaster). I think some parts were at Sandtoft (Lincolnshire), if so they have gone to Austrailia with the Lincoln. There may also be some parts with Kermit Weeks in Florida.

The Fw-189 is with Paul Allen now, under restoration presumeably (or will be before too long).
The Lancaster is spread to the winds, but the identity and a good chunk of it is with Kermit Weeks in long term storage.
The Walrus was partially restored by Dick Melton, who eventually sold it. I think it’s at Solent Sky now, but I’m not 100% sure.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Richard
