Propeller to identify

Hi all,
I saw this whilst out and about today.
The question is, what type of aircraft does it originate from.
The propeller blades are quite wide.

” But its also missing its contra-rotating partner in crime, if I am not mistaken?”

Correct – contra prop located, ordered and in the post.

That looks like an expensive bit of metal! (at least when it was new).

Yes – and some cad has added a fourth blade!

But its also missing its contra-rotating partner in crime, if I am not mistaken?

Short video of an inert example of an air dropped Mk44 I had in captivity for a while:-

I found a nice military prop this week too but it is for travelling in mediums other than air.

Nice find. Where did that turn up?

Certainly looks like a petrol pump, Gerry.

I’m interested because I like these old bits and pieces – I’ve been watching too many of the American Pickers and Salvage Hunter programmes on Sky TV!

Hi Anon,
I haven’t a clue.
Here is a slightly better image of the item that you are interested in.

Yes, I concur. Dove/Devon.

British motors went CW too. One of the most widely used, the Merlin, went CW (or right-hand tractor using the correct terminology).

Is that an old petrol pump to the right?

The rotation is British and it doesn’t look very big. Dove /Devon?
