I seem to remember a photograph appearing in an old edition of Air Pictorial (possibly April or May 1969) of a Canberra fitted with 3 bladed props as a joke by someone at an RAF base…
Does anyone know the story behind this or is my memory playing tricks… again…

Thanks guys… knew I wasn’t going mad…
However… I seem to remember it was an earlier mark… perhaps it happened more than once…?

It was a B(I).8, XM269, of 16 sqn at Laarbruch, a photo appears with a caption in the Ken Delve book, it says it ‘…aquired the propellers for a farewell joke on a squadron engineering officer, May 1966’.
This one had four bladed-props so maybe there was another?!

No you’re memory isn’t playing tricks. I have a photo in one of my books. IIRC it was a
B.(I)8 which had the starter cones embellished with “prop” blades.
