I seem to recall that a Fairchild A10, possibly a prototype, crashed at the Paris airshow circa 1978 after failing to complete a loop!

Thanks!-i did look on the web, but (as usual) got reams of irrelevent info

Are you familiar with wikipedia?

Always a fine place to begin a web search. Mostly good articles and links to further reading.

The N/AW 10 was the all weather variant that was built but not proceeded with.

Hmmm where do you do your research?

Wikipedia will link you to this page:

http://www.aero-web.org/specs/fairrepu/ya-10a.htm

where is tells you, that the A-10A prototype is now located at United States Air Force Museum, Wright-Patterson, Ohio.

If it is indeed the Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II you are looking for.
