Not sure if this has been posted before- its on milweb
Quote and link below:
“We have here for sale an Avro Anson, it’s the prototype T21.
The registration number is: VS562.
The aircraft was built in 1947 and it first flew in February 1948.
I have every single log book and document that the R.A.F ever filled in regarding the maintanance of this aircraft.
These aircraft were used in the evacuation of Dunkirk to give air cover and one of the ansons was attacked by 3 Messerschmitt 109. The turret operator in the Anson shot down one of them and damged the other 2.
Ansons flew with the R.A.F from 1934 to 1968 flew a long and distinguished in war and in piece. This aircraft is complete it wouldn’t take much to get the fuselage ready for exhibition.
The aircrafyt is in storage at the moment.
It would look extremely good on a Queen Mary trailor, being pulled by a lorry. The same as the one at the R.A.F museum Hendon.
Asking £15,000 would part exchange for a DH chipmunk or a Centurion Tank WHY? “

Good find, presumably it is still in Wales? Slightly disengenious to connect it with Dunkirk as it didn’t fly until 1948!
