PS853 Funding Approved

Just been told that Rolls Royce have finally approved funding for Spitfire PR.XIX PS853 to be repaired after her engine gave way back in 2015!
Look forward to.seeing her in the skies once again

And also mentioned elsewhere, with the mark 14 being turned into a sim….cringe.

Does not say much for the engine considering the aircraft had only just gone through a total rebuild two years earlier and an embarrassing crash landing come gear retraction resulting in a strip down and partial rebuild during those two years, considering it does very few hours. I’d hate to think of the costs.
