Over at the (American) Antique Aircraft Association’s website they have a list of some of the antiques that attended their first Fly-Ins in 1954-57 (admittedly, some of the antiques were a lot less antique then…many being about 20 years old or a good deal younger tham most of the general aviation aircraft we see and fly today). The AAA was the first antique aircraft group in the country, predating even the EAA’s interest in older aircraft.
One that caught my eye was the Puss Moth CF-AVC which attenerd the Iowa event in 1956.
After a quick internet search, I believe it’s back in the UK, I was wondering if anyone had a status update on it, whether its currently airworthy.
And if anyone knows the owner, if he’d care to send the AAA a photo I’m sure they’d be interested to learn that the aircraft is still with us.
here’s the address for the webmaster: webmaster@antiqueairfield.com
Here’s some information on their first meetings…

Be lovely to see the Puss Moth head home to Canada and a certain Fox Moth come over here!
David your dream has come true, G-FAVC (Ex C-FAVC ) has been sold by its owner Mr Peter Lovegrove and is being put into a shipping container on Monday at Hurn (Dorset) by Airtime Engineering ( If that’s what they are trading as this week ) for return to Canada and into the Reynolds Pioneer Museum at Wetaskiwin, Alberta. It will become at Static………….! Not a good ending for a great aircraft.
Let keep them Flying…..

Lets keep it in England…..;)
I’d think the type is on many people’s shopping list.:D
Probably just below XH558 in the likelihood of some “rich foreigner” buying it….:diablo::D
Besides, the other aircraft I mentioned, a long time resident of Canada and the US, wil eventually make it back to the UK.

Planemike: it’s been full for years. One day, I’ll find a way to archive all those messages I want to keep and I’ll be able to free up some space and read your message.

Any idea what the chances are of it being at the Woburn Moth Rally in August?
I am sure there are more than a few people who would be very happy to see it there………… Lets hope the weather is good and the owner (or another pilot) is willing to fly it in.

The gentleman who recently sold it was a very long-time owner.
The new owner reports it’s in excellent shape for not having been flown for many years, the interior is very original.

Puss Moth CF-AVA has been bought by a UK owner who will eventually return it to the UK after keeping it in the states for a period to do some touring.
