PV202,QV-I Duxford 14May10

Spitfire T Mk9/PV202 broke cover today in its new markings and colour scheme of a 19 Squadron Spitfire that operated out of Duxford during the Battle of Britain. John Romain took it for a throw around over Duxford during the morning and in the afternoon departed for Antwerp.

Yuck!

Cees

:eek::eek:

How can you say that Cees!

To be honest, I saw it yesterday, and it looked nice. As long as its next livery will be of a Schreiner one, I am more than happy.

This is a “proper paint” application rather than waterwash. Interesting observation by Daz re-B of B film camera ships…

spitfire productions perhaps?

Nice scheme although it does look strange on a TrIX.

Fitting tribute to those brave souls of fighter command 70 years ago.

Interesting choice, reminds me of piece of cake and Perfect hero.

Would have been nice to see a B.o.b film scheme though………..

Should’ve put it in modern RAF training colours. Imagine the resulting double-takes with it parked next to the Tucano in BoB colours…! :diablo:

Be interested to see it in a ‘what if’ scheme i.e RAF yellow training bands on overall silver !

I also liked the cheerful green Irish colours, its a shame the owner tired of this refreshingly different authentic livery. Great pic from Mark12:)

I feel this 1 should’ve been left in the Irish air corps colours, was such a nice change to all this dreary camo 🙁
God we need more Mustangs over here :diablo:

Dusk on 13 January 2005, first flight, using an Ixus pocket camera, at which point I decided it was time to dump the 35mm big Canons. 🙂

Wonderful work ..again.

And as an aside there will be an increase in “Spitfire ” sightings by the non experts this year, two display RAF Tucanos have been given camo schemes with codes.

Very nice pictures. Spit looks great. Was nothing wrong with the Dutch paint scheme though 😉
