Hi all, Just read an interesting article in the “independant” of friday ( up to date or what ! ) Qantas celebrates 60 years on the “kangaroo route”, nice description of the four day, with two night stops, route. The story revolves around a constallation flight from Sydney to LHR on 01 12 47, all very nice but backed by this pic ! which if i am not mistaken is an argonaut / DC-4M,
not a constallation ! The argonaut is registered VH-ESK, was this leased from BOAC ? have no knowledge of QANTAS owning such a lovely beast ? your input would be so accurate i know ! Keith.

Keith
If you are sure the last letter of the registration is K then the aeroplane is most certainly DC-4 VH-EBK “Malayan Trader” which was later re-registered VH-EDA.

No chance it could be -EDK as all the QF DC-4/C-54’s were VH-EDx with R-2000’s?
As as for Connie’s; we try not to stall them now and likewise then!
G’day 😉
