Qantas has begun operating its new A330-300 aircraft to Hong Kong from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Qantas egm John Borghetti said the introduction of the aircraft marked an important step in the airline’s fleet strategy which would see A330-300s replacing Boeing 767 aircraft on international routes.
The carrier has so far taken delivery of three new two-class A330-300s, with three more on the way from November.
The aircraft have 30 business class and 267 economy class seats.
Business class is also fitted out with Skybed sleeper seats, two self-service bars and mood lighting.
A new inflight entertainment system has also been installed.
In the coming months, the new A330-300s will fly on other medium-haul routes, including Tokyo and Singapore, plus Shanghai when Qantas resumes services to China on December 2.
