A330-301 VH-QPC Broken Hill was delivered to Qantas in Melbourne on January 25 after it ferried in from Toulouse via Singapore as flight QF6008. VH-QPC entered service with Qantas on January 28 when it operated QF777 from Melbourne to Perth.
A330-201 VH-EBD departed Melbourne for Singapore and the Airbus facility at Chateauroux, France as flight QF6007 on February 16. It is reported that VH-EBD has returned to France so that the aircraft could be repainted under warranty. VH-EBD was delivered to Qantas in Melbourne on April 20 ’03.

737-4Q8 VH-TJV was withdrawn from Qantas service in Melbourne on January 4 on termination of its leasefrom ILFC. On February 13 the 737 was noted outside the Qantas hangar now carrying the colours of Sky Airlines of Antalya, Turkey, registered TC-SKE.737-376 VH-TAZ was withdrawn from Qantas service on January 24 in Melbourne after it operated QF817 from Darwin. On February 1 VH-TAZ departed Melbourne for Christchurch as flight QF6011 on delivery to Qantas/Jetconnect.
The departure of VH-TAZ reduces the Qantas 737-300 fleet to eight, with two of these – VH-TJB and VH-TJC – planned for transfer to Jetconnect operations in the coming weeks.
Qantas has had a number of name-less aircraft in its fleet, but the allocation names is being addressed. To date however the aircraft are only carrying their new names internally and not externally like the remainder of the fleet. They are 747-48E VH-OEB Phillip Island; 747-4H6 VH-OEC King Island; 747-4H6 VH-OED Kangaroo Island; and 767-338ERs VH-OGP Forbes, VH-OGQ Birdsville, VH-OGR Port Macquarie, VH-OGS Roma, VH-OGT Maroochydore, VH-OGU Byron Bay, and VH-OGV Swan Hill.
Qantas/Jetconnect took delivery 737-376 VH-TAZ in Christchurch on February 1 after the former Qantas aircraft ferried in from Melbourne as flight QF6011. The ninth 737‑376 in the Jetconnect fleet was later registered ZK-JNB and is planned to enter service in early April.
Jetstar will take delivery of A320-200 msn 2197 on lease from Singapore Aircraft Leasing in July. The first of 20 new A320s ordered from Airbus will be msn 2292 for delivery in October with msn 2299 and 2322 to follow in November and msn 2329 and 2336 in December.
