Qantas Airways today announced it will increase its non-stop services between Los Angeles and Melbourne from seven to nine flights each week. The first additional flight will commence on November 6, 2004 and the second one will start on February 7, 2005.
“With the growing demand for non-stop travel from North America to Australia, Qantas has increased the number of weekly non-stop flights to provide our travelers with choices that provide maximum convenience and flexibility,” said Wally R. Mariani, Qantas Airways senior executive vice president, The Americas.
Qantas Airways has been offering services between Los Angeles and Melbourne (via Auckland) since October 1994, and has been providing non-stop flights since October 1999. With North American travelers making up an integral part of the worldwide travel market, Qantas Airways continues its substantial investment in this important area.
Qantas Airways has been the Spirit of Australia for 84 years and celebrates 50 years of continuous service between North America and Australia this year. The airline currently operates a fleet of 196 aircraft across a network spanning 41 countries.
