Qatar airways news-

Finally profit for them, but now another A380 delivery push-back, this time because of lack of facilities.

Flight Daily News (21JUN) has a report about Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways in 2003 recorded its first profit ever since the
airlines’ establishment, carrying 3.35 million passengers as of
31March 2004, and expected to carry 4.5million this year.

CEO Akbar Al Baker says the delivery date for A380 is pushed back
from 2007 to 2009, because Doha Airport will still not be ready for
the double decker jet until 2008.

Al Baker also says the airline is interested in 7E7-8 and the
stretched -9 model.

Qatar is likely to place more orders in 2005 to boost capacity for
2008 time frame and A300 replacement.

Because of the airports though, not the plane.

I know that.

Yet more evidence that this plane will have limited scope.

in AW this month a quote from an article about domodedovo says that “our airport has the correct facilities to support a large aircraft such as the A380” or something like that. What im saying is although a handful are ready at least some are ready.
Arent qatar airways the ones that built an entirely new airport from scratch to hold it.

Another push back of delivery dates for the A380. A growing trend?

Singapore are the launch customer for the A380

Any chance of seeing the A380 on the Brisbane-Singapore-Tokyo-LA route?
