I just heard a rumor that Qatar put a order in for 13 777’s a few months back. Their crews are currently training with boeing in preperation for the new aircraft. The is also rumor that Qatar is going to place a large order for a new wide- bodied fleet at the Paris Airshow.
Now, this is only a rumor, but I REALLY hope it is true.

The philosophy of cuting costs and increasing flexibility through fleet commonality is a bit of a mantra now. I agree with it fundamentally, but there are always a handful of reasons why it is logical to diversify the fleet.

Actually I heard this, this week sometime, but im not sure where. I shall look around to see what I come up with.
Personally Im no fan of the 777, but I may become one if the Qatar livery was on it… that livery is so sleak! 🙂
