QF-16???

I’ve read this in a news group. Has anyone got more info on it?

Just been informed that USAF contacted GDfor a possible contarct to
re-engine a number of old
F-16A with…………. J79-17s.
It seems USAF is running out of F-4 airframes to be converted to drones,.
the 24 remaining F-4 Airframes will last till 2008, after which the
re-engined F-16A
will be converted to QF-16.
One f the reasons s that the J79-17 is widely available, and the P&W100 in
the F-16A is too costly.
to overhaul for the drone program.

if this happens it makes you F-104 fans very happy:
1) The J-79 continues to hoooowwwwwwwwwwwl
2) The so much hated F-16 will be a target
