QRA Day at Bruntingthorpe

Have to say it was a wonderful day (no rain), well organised and the scramble put a whole new dimension on the usual fast taxi day. Nice to see a few other runners and a big thanks to all involved.

Looking forward to the next one.

Not really but still a great demo! In real time, drip trays needed to be moved, Houchin started and brought on-line, etc. Ground crew were up the ladder first to assist the pilot with straps during start-up and we could still get the jet airborne within 2 mins rather than 2.30 to just around the corner!

Really? Then what would you consider to be fast? You had the aircraft airborne in 2mins years ago at the height of the cold war when it was being practiced on a weekly basis…. Here, a group of enthusiasts have the aircraft rolling out the shed within 1min35 of the horn sounding and you dont think thats fast?

If you look at how the qshed is positioned at binbrook (no 90deg turns) I think its fair to say that the LPG wouldnt be far behind you with a bit of practice!

What would you consider to be quick in terms of leaving the shed? Time to runway cant be a realistic measure as the LPG shed hasnt been positioned for QRA

Nice video, really gives you a sense of what the crews used to do during the QRA hats off to the Lightning group for getting to this point! As for the girl herself, she really looks smart and benefitting from being housed indoors!
