QRA Shed Thread

What ever happened to the very interesting and popular QRA shed thread?

It seems to have died an un-natural death?

Any news pls?

Come on back Andy

Really sorry to hear that 320PSI has left the forum. I always found his posts very interesting and his dedication to his Lightnings an inspiration…

Well the thread on UKAR now seems to have vanished too…

There was a new post this morning on UKAR asking where the Lightning thread has gone. Checked this afternoon and I can’t find that thread either.

Seems a shame as it was the posts about the QRA shed and the Lightnings that lead to me going to the Bruntingthorpe cold war jets days and this summer’s QRA day in the first place.

Thanks for the replies.

Any idea of a link to the best current thread elsewhere please?

I did ask him to reconsider and keep the post updated. It is a shame that good people are forced out by one or two comments..

That is a real shame, Andys’ thread was a great insight into the work they do at Brunty.
On the flip side though I’m surprised he has let the few get to him, the majority here have always appreciated his efforts.

I think it was a bit more than a few though,I had forgotten there was a lot of problems vis a vis brunty generally earlier in the year,it can unfortunately get very heated on internet forums and can very quickly degenerate into something quite personal – as bruce said above some big problems can be caused by people who dont post regularly anyway.
A real shame as it was always a very interesting thread – I really do ‘take my hat off’ to the LPG guys…they have done an amazing job !!

Regrettably, Andy stopped posting updates on here after the teams at Bruntingthorpe came under attack following the Victor incident.

The shame is that most of the criticism came from people who dont post here much in any case, but came out of the woodwork to take a potshot.

If you want to see an example of how to run a volunteer organisation, preserving vintage jets in the best possible way, you need to see the Lightnings and the people who look after them. Many of us could and should learn from them.

Has he really left ?
It would be a great shame if he has,I see he is still a registered user.
Always a very enjoyable thread, and they have achieved near miracles as a group.

I think perhaps it is more a case of someone having taken exception to this forum – he still keeps the thread on UKAR regularly updated 😉

I seem to remember reading something that after a certain bomber hopped, everyone online went into hiding. I too would like to see the updates back:(
