Central and Eastern English counties will be treated to a preview of an RAF Flypast on Tuesday (7th June)*, in preparation for Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday (taking place on Saturday 11 June.)
This is due to a practice run (involving a large part of the formation for Saturday’s main event) going from South Wold, via Marham and up to RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire. The practice flypast will include a pair of Typhoons, two Tornados, a number of transport and logistic aircraft, four helicopters, surveillance aircraft and a variety of training aircraft.
The formation is due to arrive at Cranwell at 13:00 (1pm) but will be visible overhead up to half an hour beforehand for places along the approach route. The main flypast event on Saturday, which will include 32 aircraft in total (including the Red Arrows and the a Spitfire and Hurricane), will be broadcast live on the BBC at mid-day.

We can only hope that the BBC’s coverage is a vast improvement on previous flypasts.
