Quest 'Salvage Hunters' Earlier Today

I had the TV on just now to see if there was any news of interest. While I was at it, I stopped by at the Quest progamme ‘Salvage Hunters’. If you haven’t seen it, this is where a collectibles dealer persuades people to part with things for a fraction of their value. At that moment he was negotiating to buy a couple of propellors (red and white stripped tips) and it was unclear whether the attached engines were included. Apart from that he bought some runway lights and Nimrod seats apparently. All this was said to take place at “a large scrapyard near Stafford”. It must have been very large because outside were at least two wingless RAF Hercules.
Any suggestions as to the location? I am assuming it was on or adjacent to an airfield – those Hercules weren’t going to get around by road. And how come he was in there apparently taking his pick of what to buy.

….. those Hercules weren’t going to get around by road.

I stand corrected. There was a thread on that very subject a year or so ago. Route: Lyneham to Hixon via M5.

Was it the episode in which they buy some lynx tail rotor blades at a good price (compared to eBay retail!)

As explained I didn’t see the whole episode, but I didn’t see any tail rotors in what I saw.

Most probably at Air & Ground Aviation Ltd. Hixon Staffs.

There have been recent reports of

XV197/217/220/305 Hercules
XZ721 Lynx
ZA135, ZD478 Sea King
774, 775 Sea King Egyptian Air Force

all arrived by road.
