I’m not trying to be funny or anything…
But British Airways flights to the Isle of Man always seem to be delayed.
Does anyone know why????
The 146 flights from LGW are always late when I use the service, ditto the Dash 8 flights from MAN. Even retiring the notorious ATP hasn’t improved things. People from my office (me included) often (say, every 2nd or 3rd trip) end up stranded at LGW when flying to IOM-LGW-JER or vice versa.
My last two flight were the evening LGW-IOM flight (delayed 90 minutes) and a mid afternoon MAN-IOM flight (delayed 2 hours, then operated using a standby 146).
The local media, and especially the government, do not seem to like BA. It isn’t hard to see why.
But I honestly don’t know why IOM is singled out by the airline for all this. All we ever get is “the inbound aircraft was delayed” or “technical reasons”, which doesn’t explain why these delays happen as a matter of routine.
My flights on Flybe have always been on time (or within 5 mins) so far. You’ll notice from my signature, that I prefer to fly IOM-LCY then connect over land to bleedin LGW, rather than trust to BA!!
