I am looking for some anwsers on the recently delivered Indian Il-78 Midas tankers. They are supposed to be of the Il-78MK standard, build by TAPO in Uzbekistan.
I know TAPO was and still is working on an improved version of the Il-76 with a 6 meter fuselage stretch, new PS-90 engines and a complete new cockpit.
My question is whether the Il-78 delivered to India are from the old standard with an analogue cockpit, new engines and fuselage stretch? Or are they just normal Il-76MD airframes converted to the Il-78 standard?
Thanks in advance
