Question about the Spitfire LF16 / Mk. XVI service record

Did the Spitfire Mk. XVI serve in the Far East, either in Burma, Indochine, or elsewhere? My initial research shows that it was too late for WWII, but may have reached units in India, where they were used postwar. Thank you in advance for any information and/or reference to authorities on this topic.

Too late for WW2?

There’s a number of surviving Spit XVIs which have actual combat records:

RR263
SM411
TB752
TB382
TB252
TB863
TB885

As well as photo evidence of the low-back version in service at the end of the conflict:

Never got to India, though.

Do you mean the XVIII?
