Question…BBMF Hurri and Spit In at Southampton today

Heard that sound today that makes all dads run into the garden:p
Night reaper and one of the merlin spits (i couldnt tell which one) coming over the house joining the circuit to land at southampton… then i saw something that got me thinking… the spit dropped out of the circuit to land, the hurri followed him round… then suddenly (the hurri) U/C up, some power on and carried on round the eastern circuit.. he then cycled the U/C at least twice that i could see before turning to land got me thinking that his legs were’nt locking down properly…. any ideas anyone……..
It didnt come round again so i guess it must have got down……..
